Valentine's Day

We hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! Adalynn wanted to share her Valentine's gift from her mommy and daddy with you! She got a glow worm! We actually kind of got it as a joke. My older brother, Nathan, and I both had a glow worm when we were little. He was OBSESSED with his. He called it his morm. Like worm with an M. Haha!

Adalynn had her first real experience with snow today! Even though it's already snowed a few times this winter, today was the first day we bundled her up and took her out. She only stayed out for about 10 minutes. It was really cold and windy. I think she kind of liked it though. She looked a little confused, but didn't complain about being out there with all this cold white stuff! :)

It was pretty deep!

It was a pretty fun snow day! I will not be liking this in June though when we're having all the make up days! Oh well, what can ya do? :)

J-E-L-L-O

This was one of the times today where I really wish I had the video camera handy. Adalynn was sitting in her high chair and I was sitting at the table feeding her pears and pineapples (a new favorite of hers.) I was eating red jello while feeding her. I'm limited to what I can eat right now. Trying to get over a stomach bug. Anyway, she was mesmerized by the jello. I offered her a bite, but she didn't want any part of it. So she's still staring at it the whole time. Then, I start moving the spoon around so it's jiggling all over the place. She started cracking up! She was laughing for about 7 minutes over the jiggling jello. She even got tears in her eyes she was laughing so hard. I had to give her dad a call at work so he could hear how hilarious jello is to our girl!

party planning

I know it's still early, but I have already started planning Addy's birthday party. (Even though it's a little over 3 months away!) I guess you could call it pre-planning. Nick is already worried that I'm going to go overboard. He's probably right. I can't help it though. It's in my nature. :) Plus, it will be her FIRST birthday. I mean, if a mom can't go overboard with that, when can she?

So I've decided to go with an Elmo theme. Addy loves Elmo. We don't watch a lot of TV, but Sesame Street is a show we like to catch. Really visually stimulating and musical. Even entertaining for mommies and daddies! :)

I had to share this adorable outfit I came across online while searching for ideas and things. I will definitely be ordering this for the birthday girl to wear!

The plan is to have her party up at my parents' house.

I'm not ready for her to be 1 yet. I will probably be shedding some tears on her birthday. I'm just kind of a planner so I want to have time to get all of the little details together.

who knows?

I LOVE the age Adalynn is at right now. The only thing I wish I could change is if she could somehow tell me why she's crying sometimes. Sounds crazy, I know. For example, last night, we went to bed at about 10:30, and she woke up screaming at 11:30. She cried on and off until 12:30 when she finally went back to sleep. I couldn't figure out what was hurting her. She wouldn't eat so I didn't think she was hungry. I thought it could be her tummy or maybe her ear. Her nose was a little stuffy, but nothing major. So, I took her to the Dr. this evening, and they said she looked perfectly fine. Ears are fine, throat was fine, everything was fine. I was very happy to hear this. I just don't know what could be the cause of these late night fussing spells. The past few nights we've been dealing with them. I joke that she knows when I have to work because it seems to be worse on nights that I have to be at work the next morning. She's her perfectly happy self throughout the day though. Teething maybe? Still no teeth! So, who knows? :)

Here's the funny part. Well, not really funny. Kind of painful for me, but unusual I guess. While at the Dr., I asked her to look in my ear because it's been bothering me the past few days. Adalynn may not have an ear infection, but mommy sure does! Ouch! I'm just glad it's me and not her though.

Oh well. Hoping for a good night of sleep tonight! Who knows? We will see. :)

cousinly love

Nick and I got a little taste of what it would be like to have twins the other day. We watched our nephew, Will for a few hours. We had lots of fun. Addy and Will are 10 weeks apart, and so sweet together. They love each other!
