Big Girl in her Bumbo!

I thought this pic of Adalynn sitting in her bumbo was adorable!

Technically, it's her cousin Will's bumbo. (Hence the blue). He's letting her borrow it until he is big enough for it. What a good little sharer! :)

Sadly, Adalynn is sick with her first cold. She caught whatever her mommy and daddy have. Daddy recovered quickly, but mommy is having a tough time! Adalynn seems to be handling it okay. Her nose is kind of stuffy. So far, no fever! If you look at this pic closely, you can tell by her little eyes that she's not quite feeling up to par. Hopefully we will all be healthy by the end of the weekend!

How Time Flies

It's hard to believe that our precious Adalynn is 3 months and 10 days old! How time flies (especially after you have a baby I've noticed). We feel so blessed to have such a happy and healthy baby girl. She has brought so much joy to our lives. Here are some recent pics!

Mommy is pleased to share that Adalynn is a great sleeper. She has been sleeping through the night for some time now and takes 2-3 good naps a day. She joined the right family since she likes to sleep. Her momma loves naps!

Back to School!

Wow! What a behind blogger I am! My days have been filled gearing up for the start of the school year and spending every other free second with little Miss Adalynn before it was back to work for mommy. Only part time though! Woohoo!

So school officially started yesterday. It was tough because it was definitely the longest I've ever been away from Adalynn. I knew she was in great hands though because my mom took off work yesterday and today so I could ease back into the swing of things. My grandma and mother-in-law are the other babysitters. I feel so fortunate to have family members watching Adalynn. They love her so much and of course take great care of her!

Bottle update- we have no problems taking it anymore! YAY! Nick's mom was the first person to get her to successfully take it Tuesday. Now she seems like an old pro. The only problem my mom ran into was that she tried to mix some formula in with breast milk (I was afraid I would run out) and that was a no go. She knew the difference! Her daddy and I joked that she might be a little high maintenance. She definitely knows what she wants when she wants it! I guess all babies do though. :)

I am excited about the new school year. For one thing, you can't beat 2.5 days a week, and I have a great teaching partner, Jill. Our kids are SO STINKING CUTE! I am aware that this cuteness will probably wear off (soon), but I am enjoying it for now. I am really excited about teaching 2nd grade this year. It was a welcomed change from 4th. :) I always kind of thought I was a little more suited for primary.

Some bad news is that Nick and I both have colds. UGH! I lost my voice today while teaching. Thank goodness I am off tomorrow and have the weekend to recuperate. Please say a little prayer that Adalynn does not catch it. I would hate to see her in this kind of discomfort. Nick and I have been taking turns taking care of each other. Right now he's making me brownies and bringing me ginger ale! Can't beat that! I asked him if he felt like I was pregnant again and he said yes! :) Kind of miss those days. *tear*

Adalynn Grace gets Baptized

On Sunday, August 2nd, our baby girl was baptized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. We had a lot of our family there (minus my brother, Nathan, who had to work :( ). It was a really special day for our little lady!

After the Baptism, we all went to lunch at Buckhead. It was a fun day!

He's here! He's here!

Baby Will is finally here! William Christian Whitis was born at 9:44 am on July 28, 2009 weighing in at 7lb 5oz and measuring 19.5 in long. He is absolutely perfect. His momma did a great job! Mommy and baby are enjoying their rest in the hospital and doing great!

Adalynn doesn't know quite what to think of her new cousin yet. When she heard him crying her eyes got really big and she had this funny little expression on her face! Too cute! They will definitely be great little playmates one day.

Nana and Opa are doing well too! They are happy to have both babies here and healthy.

Baby Will is on his Way!!!!

The time has almost come to finally meet baby Will!!! Adalynn and I can't wait to meet her new little cousin. Her daddy and I gave her a bath and put her in her rubber ducky sleeper. We are both now wide awake waiting on a phone call.

Since my sister, Jenna's, blood pressure has been high for the past several weeks and she is now 37 weeks, they went ahead and began inducing her around 7 pm. She is now at 2-3 cm and in quite a bit of discomfort. She's having back pain, dizziness, and nausea. Hopefully they will break her water soon and get her an epidural (I got mine at 2-3 cms!)

It's killing me to not be at the hospital right now but the rule is that children cannot be in the labor and delivery room. Since I am nursing and Nick has to be at work in the morning, that poses a problem for Adalynn and me. So the plan is that I will go to the hospital when she gets closer and my dad will take care of Addy in the waiting room while I stay in for the delivery. My sister was one of my leg holders when Addy was born. :)

Can't wait to meet the little guy and see what he looks like! If you read this in time, say a little prayer that everything goes okay!

Cookout at Nana and Opa's!

Saturday night we headed up to Nana and Opa's (my parent's) house for a cookout. Nick grilled some delicious steaks and Aunt Jenna cooked up some tasty sides. Nick, my dad, and Nathan went out to look at some property in the Knobs we thought might be good to build a house on someday. Unfortunately, it turned out to not be level enough and would be more expensive because it cannot be hooked up to sewer. Bummer!

Uncle Nathan held Adalynn for the second time! She thought he was quite hilarious when he was talking and smiling at her. She did get a little fussy when he picked her up so he handed her off pretty quickly. Poor Uncle Nathan is not very used to being around kiddos. He will get the hang of it though! :)
