cows

I so want to remember what happened this morning. Adaylnn and I hadn't been awake for too long. We were cuddling on the couch watching some TV. I think I had Regis and Kelly on. A Blue Bell ice cream commercial came on that had a bunch of cows on it. Addy gets all excited and starts saying, "Ca, ca, ca!" I'm guessing that was cow. :) So I said, "Yes! Those are cows! Moo moo moo." Then, she crawls down off the couch and heads to her little Fisher Price farm. It's one of her fav toys right now, and is actually a hand-me-down from my 27 year old brother, Nathan! Out of her farm, she grabs a toy cow and says, "Ca, ca, ca!"

This, to me, was so amazing. For one thing, she recognized a cow on TV. Then, thinks to herself that she has a toy cow. Then, out of a bunch of other animals like sheep and horses, she pulls out a cow! Our girl is certainly growing up. Turning into quite the little genius if I do say so myself! :)

Prayers Please

Tomorrow, my precious nephew (and Godson), William Christian, is having tubes put in at Kosair. Please keep him and his mommy and daddy in your prayers. They have been battling constant ear infections for several months now that antibiotics aren't even touching.

Last week, in preparation for his surgery, Will was Baptized at Our Lady. Nick and I are honored to be his Godparents.

There's that sweet Will.

Will with his mommy and daddy. This is not the best family photo since they aren't looking at the camera, but I put it up so you could see what Will does all the time... try to pull his ears off.
:(

That's better.

Baptism

Addy and Nana. Addy is wondering what in the world they are doing to her cuz.

We celebrated with a little pizza party and some cake afterwards at our place. I thought this cake was so sweet.

God bless you, Will. Hopefully the tubes will give you some comfort!

the tickle monster

I wanted to share this wonderful gift that Lyn (my grandma's best friend who is so sweet) gave Adalynn. We have sure had a lot of fun with it.

It's a book called Tickle Monster by Josie Bissett. It comes with these gloves you where while reading it. So you become the tickle monster. How cool is that? Adalynn finds it quite hilarious. Plus, the book alone is super cute.

Here are the gloves!

Guess who likes to pretend she's the tickle monster!

Pat-a-caking in her gloves.

Here's how she gets them off. Shake, shake, shake!

tasmanian devil

Adalynn loves playing with her toys. She's pretty good about entertaining herself for a short period of time while I'm doing chores. Luckily, our house is now pretty baby proof. She spends most of her time in our living room, but plays in her bedroom too while we are upstairs. Let me tell you, the girl can mess up a room in no time flat. We call her our little tasmanian devil.

I probably pick up the living room (where most of her toys are) 3 times a day. I often wonder what is the point though because toys are everywhere again in about 5 minutes.

This evening, after Nick got off work, his mom came over to spend some time with Addy. So, the three of them hung out downstairs while I had the opportunity to get some much needed things done upstairs. Adalynn's room has all kinds of fun things that she loves to play with. Her favorite is her kitchen that was handed down from Callie (my mom's friend's daughter). Addy loves getting her spoons, pots and pans, whisks, and fake food spread around her room.

So, my chore for the evening was to tackle her room. Besides just putting away toys, I had to clean out and organize her closet and drawers. We had quite a few outgrown things that were needing to be packed away.

When Addy and I went up there tonight to get her jammies before her bath, it was the first time she'd seen her room since I'd cleaned it. It was hilarious. Her eyes got huge and she started babbling. I know she was thinking, "Thank you mommy! Now I get to mess it all up again, and that's my favorite thing to do!" :)

The Paci Thief Strikes Again!

Adalynn and I were excited to get to watch Little Will today. They both were great! Will did get a little upset when his mommy left so I gave him his paci to help comfort him. Adalynn has never taken a paci regularly. I tried and tried with never any luck. She would take it for a few minutes and I would get all excited, and then she would just spit it out. I gave up hope and quit trying after she was a couple of months old. The girl cracks me up though because anytime she is around Will and he has his paci, she will pop it out of his mouth and into hers! Crazy girl!

So you can probably imagine what happened to poor Will's paci...

Don't let that innocent face fool you, she's a paci thief! :)

She's like, "What mommy? How come you never give me one of these?"

So... luckily, Aunt Jenna left an extra.

Curly Q

Adalynn is getting more and more hair everyday. Her hair seems to take after mine. Sometimes curly, sometimes straight, but always full of frizz. We had a pool day with some girls I work with yesterday. After we got home, Addy was worn out and took a good nap. When she woke up, this is what I found...

Look at that crazy curly hair! I'm sure the pool water and sunscreen had a lot to do with it.

Full of curls!

Since she has more hair now, I have been experimenting with putting bows in it. She looks so adorable. They fall out or she takes them out a lot. That doesn't stop me from trying though!

Oliver's Sweet Ride

Addy loves her cousin, Oliver. Ollie is 18 months old now. He has this pretty sweet ride that everyone calls his Muffin Truck. It plays the song "Do you know the Muffin Man." Adalynn loves to watch Ollie go on that thing. She doesn't spend too much time on the Muffin Truck herself because everyone knows how protective guys are of their cars, right?

Well, Ollie wasn't home one day when Nick had her over for a visit to Grandma's. So Little Miss Addy got to ride on the Muffin Truck, and boy was she proud!

Look at the excitement! No hands!

This is fun guys!

So, Nick's mom ended up buying another Muffin Truck once she saw how much Addy loved it too. The thing is, even though there are two now, they both want the same one. Crazy kiddos! :)

Daddy's Little Helper

There's no doubt about it. Adalynn loves her daddy. Wherever he is and whatever he is doing, she wants to be right there doing it too. Here are some of Addy and daddy's recent "projects."

Here is the duo putting together some shelving for our downstairs bathroom. You can see her holding a screwdriver if you look closely.

(Nick's face cracks me up here!) Addy received this little piggy bank from her Godmother (my best friend, Staci) for her birthday. Nick donated all the change to Addy's piggy bank fund that he had been collecting.

Like father, like daughter. Nick is a good saver. Better than me! ;) Maybe, Addy will take after him!

WALKING!!!

Yes, that's right! Addy is now walking. Well, maybe not walking walking. She takes 6-7 steps at a time after some coaxing from mommy and daddy. I know she will be all over the place in the next week or two though. Then, Nick and I will really be in trouble! So proud of our girl and can't believe how fast she is growing!

We are back in business!

Okay, so our computer got some crazy virus that pretty much crashed the whole thing. I have been without my precious internet for about a week. It has been rough! On the up side, I got a lot more done around the house! :) Anyway, I plan to have the posts rolling in! Yay for computers!!!
