sick girl

Our poor baby girl is sick! It came out of nowhere today. We were on our way to 6:00 church, and we hear her coughing and gagging in the backseat. So, Nick did a Nascar maneuver, and we pulled into the Meijer's parking lot. She had thrown up ALL over herself and her car seat. This is the first time she's ever thrown up. Poor thing, she didn't know how to handle it. So we stripped her down and cleaned her off as best we could with baby wipes. Luckily, I had a change of clothes. So, needless to say, we didn't go to church.

After that, she acted fine. She was playing like her normal self. So I decided to try to give her some cheerios and water. Bad idea! She threw up for a second time. Then, a third before bed! I'm a little worried because she is now not wanting to drink anything. My mom went and got her some Pedialyte, but she has been asleep, and not drank any yet. It's been about 5 hours since she's had a wet diaper. I know babies get dehydrated very easily. I'm going to watch her very closely tonight. Ughhh.... I don't like when she's sick at all! It's so sad!

Her cousin Will is getting over the same exact thing. He has been to the Dr. and they told them it was a virus. Good thing because I would be freaking out about salmonella or something!

On a little different note, Adalynn had her 15 month checkup yesterday. 15 months... I can't believe it! She is a growing girl! She weighed in at 23 lbs 12 oz and was 31.5 in long. She was in the 60th percentile for weight and 75th for height. They said she looked very healthy. She had to get 2 shots. One was tetanus and the other hepatitis. I can tell her legs are sore. I know that tetanus shots hurt for a while after! I just got one not too long ago.

Pool Day

Today, Adalynn and I joined some friends I work with and their kiddos for a pool day. It was a fun way to say goodbye to summer and hello to an upcoming school year. I tried to get some pics, but they're not the best. I was a little busy with Miss Addy. Unfortunately, she was not in the best mood for our pool day. :( These molars she has coming in are really giving us some fits. I hope they pop through soon!

Here are some pics that I did get:
Adalynn enjoying a snack is her stroller!

Miss Kaidyn snacking too!

Ashtyn getting ready to jump in!
I think the heat and sun were getting to Adalynn because she was in full meltdown mode by the time we left. Luckily, she fell asleep in the car and took a good nap!

It's about that time...

Today is my last official day of summer! Man, how it flew. It was a good one though, despite the heat! I have loved spending my days with Little Miss Addy! However, I am extremely blessed because I get to keep working part time this year!!! So Addy will still have me home 2.5 days of the work week, plus the weekends! This year, I will be teaching Kindergarten! Even though I'm not 100% ready to go back yet, I am super excited to meet our class! I have a feeling I will LOVE working with the little ones!

Speaking of Addy... she is getting to be a big girl! Here are some new happenings:

*She is now walking ALL over the place! Sometimes running.
* She insists on wearing her shoes at all times (her Sweet Squeaks are her favorite).
*She looks at family pictures and points out who she sees. (She recently started saying Addy
which sounds like Atty.
* Her favorite foods are pizza and hot dogs. Yeah, not the healthiest, but I'm just happy when
she eats!
*The ABC song is a favorite of hers. Her face lights up when I sing it.
*My mom bought her some mega blocks and she is having a big time playing with them.
*Books are one of her favorite things. One of my favorite things is when she gets one, brings it
up to me, says, "book", and then snuggles on my lap and listens to me read it. This happens
several times a day.
* She has also taken a liking to makeup brushes. She can often be seen clinching onto one of
those things while running around the house and checking stuff out.
* Addy Grace turns 15 months old in just 5 days! I take her to the Dr. Friday, for her checkup.
I can't wait to hear her weight and height because I can tell she is a growing girl!
