TMI?

Okay, so this post might be TMI for some. If poopy diapers are too much for you... stop reading now! :) However, most people I know, aren't bothered by such things.

So the TMI begins... Addy has had a little tummy bug. :( She has had diarrhea since Monday. Not a big deal really. Playing like normal and acting herself, so I wasn't concerned. When I dropped her off at my Gran's this morning before school, I only had 4 diapers in her diaper bag. That was all we had left at the house! I had planned to pick up more at the store after work. 4 diapers in 4 or 5 hours would usually be PLENTY! Not the case today though.

Poor Addy had 4 diapers with diarrhea while I worked a half day this morning. Then, she had at least 4 more after. (Thankfully, I did get a chance to pick up diapers)! What really concerned me was that the last 3 were bloody. Not just a little, quite a lot.

I called the Dr. and they wanted to see her tonight. The only problem was, I had a class at 5:45. So, Nick took her. She saw Dr. Shiner who thought it was probably viral, but wanted to rule out any bacterial infection. So, I am going tomorrow to the hospital to pick up a stool sample kit, collect what I need, and return it to be tested.

I am concerned, but hoping it will soon pass. My mom (a wonderful pediatric nurse!) assured me that this is actually pretty common. I will be glad once they rule out a bacteria and Miss Addy Cakes gets better!

New Boots

I found these little boots while out shopping the other day and thought they were the cutest! I couldn't wait to see what they looked like on Addy, so she tried them on as soon as we got home! Can't wait til the weather cools off and she can wear them outside!

(On a side note, besides Mickey, Addy also has a pen obsession. This one I'm not so fond of. Dangerous! Poor Mickey is tossed to the side of this pic. She was actually writing on the pad of paper laying on the ground, but I took the pen away from her as soon as the pic was taken. We didn't need any trips to the ER for a pen mishap).

Mickey Mouse

So, I've been meaning to blog about this one for a while. Adalynn has a new favorite thing. It's a little unusual I guess, but it sure cracks us up. For the past 4 weeks or so, everywhere Addy goes, a Mickey Mouse Pez (you know the little candy dispensers?) goes with her! That thing is clutched in her hand from sun up til sun down. Mickey also joins Addy in the bathtub! I guess that's probably a good thing. I'm sure he gets pretty dirty being carried around by an almost 16 month old all day!

Uncle Mikey is the one who introduced Addy to her beloved Mickey Mouse Pez. He has quite an extensive collection of Pez dispensers. I think he has around 200. He collected them when he was younger.

Here is Addy and Mikey checking out the collection (notice Mickey in her hand?) :)

Wow! Look at all those Pez!

So... I wanted to show you what a day in the life of Addy and Mickey is like. Here she is taking him shopping in the kitchen.

He goes in her mouth a lot too! :)

There he is. I don't know if you can tell, but Mickey's poor nose is a little chewed on.
This whole Mickey thing started around the time school started back up for me. I think it's a security thing. Like a blankie or stuffed animal.
Mickey had a little adventure the other day! He was left in our cart at Target! Addy fussed on the way out, and I didn't know why. Now I know she was trying to tell me she didn't have Mickey! I didn't realize until we got home. Addy had fallen asleep in the car so I called Target to see if anyone turned him in. They wrote down my info, and said they would let me know if they found him. I figured the chances of that were slim.
So, here's where it gets good. Adalynn sure does have a GREAT daddy! He left work on his lunch and went and tracked down a NEW Mickey!!! New Mickey was in Adalynn's possession as soon as she woke up from her nap, and she didn't know the difference. Not long after that, Target called! They had found Old Mickey! The lady that found him was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She said she couldn't get Mickey off her mind and HAD to find him! So Old Mickey is safely back in Addy's possession. But just in case we ever lose him again... we have a backup! :)
