first day of school

Adalynn attended her first day of school ever today!  We recently found out that Grace Lutheran Preschool offers a class for 2-year-olds.  They go one day a week for three hours.  She was on the waiting list for a while, and then they called last week saying they had a spot for her!  That's where I went to preschool so it's kinda funny.  Adalynn has been SO excited about starting school.

Here are some pics from our big girl's first day!

She was ready to go with her backpack.

She loves the childcare at church so much that I wasn't really worried about her crying or not wanting to get dropped off.  Luckily, I was right!  She marched right in and started playing with the kids and toys.

I was so impressed with the amount of things they did today with ten 2-year-olds in her class.  They have a calendar time, crafts, lesson (today, the shape was a heart), project to go along with the lesson, center time, bible time, and they made Native American head dresses and necklaces!  They also dressed each of the kids as a part of the nativity scene, posed them, and took their pictures.  Adalynn said she was an angel.  They make the pictures into Christmas cards to sell as a fundraiser for the school.  I can't wait to see them!

I can't believe our girl is getting so big!  She amazes us everyday!

fall bargains

A few weeks ago, I went to the Little Treasures Consignment Sale in New Albany.  I found some of the cutest things there for Addy.  Barely worn for only a couple dollars a piece.  Miss Addy sported some of her new finds to church the past couple of weeks.  This mama is a huge fan of deals!

She looks so grown up in this picture.  I can't even get over it!

Sweet girl!

pumpkin patch

A couple of weekends ago, we went to Huber's to get some pumpkins!  The weather was great that day, and it was a spur of the moment trip.  We didn't have a lot of time to spend there, but Miss Addy loved the wagon ride!

Daddy and Addy on the wagon.

Addy in the patch!  Let's just pretend there are pumpkins in this picture.  :)  Didn't actually snap any on our trip to the pumpkin patch.  haha

Gorgeous Weather!!!

We enjoyed every second of this gorgeous weather this weekend!  I had class for part of the day on Saturday, but couldn't wait to get home and play outside afterwards!

Our little dog walker.

Cheesin'

Nick and I looked away while we were at the playground for 1.5 seconds, and Little Miss Big Britches had made it all the way up this climbing wall thing.  Good thing I wasn't watching, things like this make me nervous!

Big Girl

Addy was worn out so daddy gave her a shoulder ride home.

I can't believe how much Adalynn has grown up over the last couple of months.  It is unreal to me that she will be 2 1/2 next month.  Still trying to figure out where all this time has gone!  She sure is fun at this age though!

Pumpkin Carving!

Wow!  It has literally been months since I've last blogged.  Our computer went wacky and would only pull up certain websites, and Blogger was not one of them.  :(  Anyway, it is all fixed now!  Yay!

Last evening, we went to Nathan and Kristin's house for some pumpkin carving fun!

Two sweet cousins!

Uncle Mikey playing on his phone.  He's a teenager.  Yikes!

We carved in the garage.  Great spot for it!  Nick got all competitive, and claimed he would have the best pumpkin.  :)

Addy was very into it as well!

Cheese!

Love this of my dad and Addy!  Wish it was a little less blurry.  She has been the BIGGEST Opa's girl lately.  He took her on a lunch date the other day and totally stole her heart.  :)

Nick's masterpiece!

Nathan's work of art.

Addy and daddy showing off her little pumpkin.

We had a fun night!  Thanks for having us over, Aunt Kristin and Uncle Nathan!!!

Ready for Disney!

We are gearing up for our trip to Disney World next week and Miss Adalynn is READY!  Everyday when she wakes up, she thinks it's the day we're going to Disney World.  Sweet girl.

The other day, I put her Minnie Mouse t-shirt on her.  She got decked out in her hat and sunglasses.  She was ready to hit the road.

Here she is telling me to come on!

"Disney, please?"

We are so excited!

beatin' the heat

Yesterday evening, we headed to the pool!  It was a perfect way to beat the heat, and wore a certain little girl out (which was nice because she took a late nap yesterday).

Posing with mommy.

Floating with daddy.

Love this pic!

We went to the pool at Nathan and Kristin's neighborhood.  Perfect way to spend a summer evening!  We plan on going back tonight!

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying somewhat cool!  :)

pedicures!

I'm behind on my posts!  A couple of weeks ago, Nana, Adalynn, and I all went to get pedicures!

Addy sat on Nana's lap.

She had her little tootsies in the water, but she was splashing the guy in the face!  ha!

Adalynn picked her color out all by herself.  Bright red!  When I asked the guy if he could paint her toes too, he looked at me like I was a little crazy and told me her toes were too small.  :)  I told him that I didn't care how they looked, but she loves when her toenails are painted.  He worked very diligently and put on two coats and a topcoat!

Miss Addy just sat there like a little diva the whole time! She loved being pampered!

The finished product!

Miss Adalynn loved her pedi so much that she has talked about it constantly ever since we got them.  It is starting to chip a little and this morning Addy was saying, "Toenails painted please?"

father's day 2011

We had a great fathers' day weekend!  I am so thankful for all of the amazing men in our lives!  Addy is too!  Our gal is quite the daddy's girl!  :)

We did lots of fun things!

On Saturday, we headed to the Edinburgh Outlets with Nathan and Kristin.  We had a great time and Miss Addy was so good!  She's a little shopper at heart!

Daddy's little princess at heart too!

On Sunday, we went to church with my family.  I didn't get any pictures of my dad and me on Fathers' Day, but wanted to share some from our wedding.

We love you Opa!

On Sunday evening, we enjoyed dinner and swimming with Nick's family!  Fun times!  I have totally been slacking on the pictures lately though!

Happy father's day to Nick and our dads!  Love you guys more than words can ever express!!!

a bad case of stripes

Adalynn has a new favorite food!  Lima beans!  She has only recently been introduced to them because this is not something we usually fix.  Nick and I are not big fans, but my grandma made them the other day and our sweet girl couldn't get enough!

Well... the teacher in me can't stop thinking about the book, "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon every time our gal eats her new fav food!

I love this story!  In it, a little girl is embarrassed to admit that she loves lima beans because she's afraid of what her friends might think.  So, she begins changing into all of these different things and the only cure is lima beans!

Keep eating those lima beans Addy Grace!  Mommy and daddy love our unique little girl!  :)

polly's freeze

The other day, we went up to my parents for dinner.  Afterwards, we all headed to Polly's Freeze in Georgetown for dessert.  We like going there every once in a while.  Lots of space for the kids to run around and play!

Adalynn and daddy chatted over ice cream!  :)

Opa helped Will drink his shake!

Our gal LOVES ice cream!

Digging in!

Adalynn does not like to be messy so she's eats her cone very carefully!  She's over it when it starts dripping all over her!  :)

dressin' up

One of Adalynn's favorite things to do lately is dress up!  First thing this morning, she headed straight to her trunk with her bedhead and all!  So sweet!

Here's our princess all dressed up and ready to start her day!

Pretty, pretty princess!

I have been snapping the pics on my phone recently, so not the best quality.  It's just always right there and handy for me!

Addy is so funny walking around the house with her little heels, dress, and crown.  We should probably watch out!  :)

cousins

Will came over on Friday!  He and Addy had a fun cousin play date!  They play so well together now that it's so nice when they get together.  They keep each other entertained!  :)

Adalynn was dressing up for Will in heels and beads.

She was being so funny!  She kept bossing him around.  I kept hearing her say, "Will, WILL!"  She would also lead him around by the hand and say, "Will sit down."  Luckily, Will didn't seem to mind.

Aunt Jenna came a little later and joined us.  We played a little outside before it got too hot.

Will was sporting some "sunscreen hair."

Both of the kiddos were fighting their naps BIG TIME!  Who wants to nap when you can play?

I finally convinced them to lay in our bed and watch some Mickey Mouse.  Within no time, they were both out like lights.

Sweet sleeping cousins.

Memorial Day Weekend (Sunday)

Nick's Grandma and Grandpa Adams invited us to their church this morning for their Memorial Day service.  It was really neat because Nick's grandpa served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.  Nick's brother, Jamie, was also there.  He served in the army and is a veteran of the Iraq War.  Nick served in the Air Force.  His brother, Corey, is also serving in the Air Force, but couldn't make it because he had to work.  I am so thankful for these guys (very proud too!)

Sitting there with all of these people who were willing to give their lives for our country was so touching.

Nick tried to get some pics of Adalynn all dressed up for church this morning, but these days, that's not the easiest task!

Silly girl!

After church, we went back to Nick's grandparents for pizza.  Adalynn couldn't wait to get done eating because she knew she was going to get to go feed their neighbors' horses!  Her great grandma got her all fixed up with a bag of apples and carrots to take.

Love these pics of Addy and daddy walking to the horses!

Here they come!

Adalynn's excited!

So... I am not a person who knows a lot about horses.  Plus, I am a Nervous Nelly.  This made me a tad anxious.  I soon realized that it was alright though, and Adalynn really enjoyed it!  I couldn't bring myself to feed them though.  Crazy, I know!  I tried, but then I looked at Nick and said, "They can sense my fear!"  haha

Here's Miss Addy giving the horsies a snack!
