recuperating

Whoa! This spring break has been a little crazy (to say the least)!

I have mentioned before about a cyst on my urinary tract that I've had for a while. I "lived with it" for as long as I possibly could, but the pain and constant infections became too unbearable. After another visit to the Dr., he said it was definitely time for the surgery.

On Thursday, I went in to have it removed. It was an outpatient procedure, so I went home the same night. I was the most worried about the general anesthesia, but everything went just fine!

My mom, grandma, and mother-in-law have all been so helpful with Adalynn. It is so nice to know that she's been in such good, loving hands. Nick (or as I like to call him, my "male nurse") has done a great job taking care of me! Him and Addy are actually out on a date right now to Bass Pro Shop and the Pie Kitchen. She's his kinda gal! ;)

I am at home (with a catheter) so that's not the most fun. Hopefully, that's coming out Tuesday, and it should be smooth sailing after that!

I wanted to sincerely thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers! You guys are the best!

silly girl

Adalynn is always coming up with new things to do that make her daddy and me laugh. Here is her latest thing...

When she wants her daddy to do something for her (i.e. get her a drink or take her plate off her high chair because she's finished eating) she will call out, "Nick! Nick!"

I mean seriously, what 22 month old calls their daddy by their first name? haha! Nick is blaming me for this because he says that I am always saying his name and then telling him to do something! :) So... I've been trying to be really careful and only refer to him as daddy when she's around. It's kinda hard though! I don't know how I would handle her calling me by my first name.

We have one silly girl on our hands! She definitely keeps us on our toes!

Today was the visitation for my Papaw. I wanted to write down a poem (for memory's sake) that was written on the program.

God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be;
So he put his arms around him, and whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away;

Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest;
God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the Best!

He is finally at peace.

Please keep my Mawmaw and dad in your prayers. I know tomorrow will be a very emotional day for them (and everybody), but God is good and walking with us every step of the way.

Papaw Ray

Our Papaw Ray passed away Tuesday evening. I was with him when he passed along with my Mawmaw, dad, and brother. We were holding hands and praying in a circle at the time that he went up to Heaven. We are finding comfort in the fact that he is no longer in pain and in a much better place.

We will miss our Papaw Ray, but know he is looking down on us now and watching over us.

first haircut

Adalynn got her first haircut on Monday! Although she does not have a lot of hair to cut, I thought a tiny little trim might do her some good. Her hair was getting a little out of control! :) I looked at her the other day, and she looked like that guy with the white hair from Back to the Future. This was after I tried to fix it. haha. I also thought some bangs would help because her hair was constantly getting in her eyes.

We went to see Rosie for her first haircut. Rosie has cut my hair FOREVER!

Addy was a little unsure at first...

A sucker helped though. She actually did a great job! We were impressed.

There's the new bangs!

Getting it all "styled!"

Finished product! So cute!

Rosie got a big hug for doing such a great job! :)

We kept some hair for her baby book. It was such a small amount that we trimmed, that it was actually hard to collect and stick in the baggie.

One more milestone in the life of our little angel.
