glitter eggs

Tonight, we dyed Easter eggs!

The box caught Adalynn's attention for a bit.

Then... this is what we see...

This picture cracks me up!!!  It pretty much sums up how Adalynn felt about dyeing Easter eggs.  She thought it was boring!  After she realized she couldn't drink the colorful water, she was over it.

The whole thing wasn't a bust.  She got maybe 2 minutes of enjoyment out of it.  haha

Our little kit was called "glitter eggs."  After we dyed them, we shook them around in glitter.

Adalynn liked that part the best.

She was on to the next thing in no time, and Nick and I were laughing as I was sitting at the table by myself dyeing the eggs.  At one point I said, "I saw this going differently in my head!"  hahahaha!

What did I expect?  I mean the girl is 23 months old!  :)

Poor Adalynn does have a reason to not be too impressed with Easter eggs though.  Today I had her back at the doctor.  This was the fourth week in a row I've had her there.  She has had a double ear infection that will not go away!  She is not eating as well as normal and definitely not sleeping good.  She is also not quite as happy as usual.  :(

Her ears did look a little better today though, still red, but not pussy and no fluid.  She is on her second antibiotic (she has been on one for about 3 weeks now).

They told me it was up to us if we wanted to follow up with an ENT and go ahead with tubes.  We are definitely going to go ahead and do it now rather than wait for another infection.  I would have made an appointment today, but after her appointment, we came home and took a nice long nap together!

Hopefully we can schedule an appt. and get something going soon!  I'm tired of these ear infections and I know Miss Addy is too!

Will is doing great!!! and other recent happenings

First of all, Will did great Tuesday!  Praise the Lord!  Hopefully, this will be the end of those ear infections!

In other news... we are looking forward to Easter around here!  While I was at class tonight (my last one of this semester!!!), Aunt Jenna was "practicing" Easter Egg hunting with Will and Addy. They both loved it!  We are planning to hit up some public Easter egg hunts this Saturday.  I hope the weather permits!  Also, Miss Addy and I are going to dye eggs tomorrow!  Pics to come!

Let's see... what else... Nick and I recently bought a house (not to live in).  Nick is fixing it up, and then we hope to have it rented out soon.  Nick has been wanting a rental property for quite some time, so I'm glad we got the opportunity.  The only thing is, I haven't seen much of my hubby lately!  He has been so busy over there, but I am thankful that my man is such a hard worker!  :)  He is traveling to Houston next week for a business trip so we will miss him a lot!

Also, I celebrated my birthday this past Sunday!  I had a great time spending the day with my family!  We went to church, shopped a little, and went to dinner.  I started thinking about how my life has changed in just a few short years.

Here is the timeline that kept playing in my head...

Met Nick at 19  (So, so cheesy, but I knew by our second date that he was "the one")  :)
Engaged at 21
Graduated from college and first teaching job at 22
Married at 22
Found out we were expecting our baby girl at 23
Became parents at 24

.... And here I am!  Celebrating my 26th year!

Time flies when you're having fun!!!

William Christian

This coming Tuesday, our precious nephew (and Godson), William Christian, is having surgery.  If possible, would you say a prayer for him please?  :)  Thanks!

Here is a little back story:

Poor Will has had a terrible time with his ears ever since he was a young baby.  He is 10 weeks younger than Adalynn.

Will has battled ear infection after ear infection.  Last year, Will got tubes which did the job for a while.  Unfortunately the infections creeped back up and got closer and closer together.  One tube is now out and the other is loose.  His ENT doctor said that the tube he had left is actually working against him now.  It has started breeding more infection.

On Tuesday, Will is going to Kosair to get his adenoids removed and get new tubes put in.  Unfortunately, he will need general anesthesia for this.  :(  The adenoid removal is the "big part" of the surgery, but hopefully will help Will feel better.

We had Will, and his mommy and daddy over tonight for a Thunder par-tay.  Addy LOVES her cousin so much!  They had a great time dancing around like little maniacs to the thunder music while the fireworks were going off!  :)  I didn't take any pics...  :(

but...

Here is a pic of the duo from a recent zoo adventure we had.

And here is Will, Addy, and Uncle Mikey

                                                   We LOVE you William Christian!!!

spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung, and it's a good thing!  Miss Adalynn is growing like a weed!  She was busting out of all of her winter clothes!   Good thing mommy got to put some of her spring clothes on her this weekend.

Here's a cute little outfit her Gran got for her...

Trying to run away from me, but then decided since she was going to get her pic taken, she better strike a pose!  :)

Getting ready to head to church Saturday.

Adalynn is soooo silly!  Can you believe she already tells ME what SHE's going to wear?  haha.  So... if I have an outfit that she does not find acceptable, she flat out refuses to wear it!

She is the most particular about her shoes.  Many times, you will find her sporting an outfit and shoes that don't quite match.

Love that crazy girl!

guitar playing

...or GEE-TAR playing as Adalynn likes to call it!  We keep it country.  :)

For Nick's birthday, we went to go pick out a new guitar.  He's never played before, but has always wanted to learn.  Both of my brothers have been really into playing lately.  Now they can all get together and jam!  :)

I'm excited about Nick's new hobby.  Makes me want to brush up on my old piano playing skills (haven't played since I was in high school).

I snapped these pics tonight after dinner of Adalynn playing with her daddy and thought they were so sweet!

True love :)

Want to know what they were rockin' out to?  None other than the theme song from Barney!  :)

...with a great big hug

....and a kiss from me to you ~MWAH!

Look out Partridge Family!  :)

technical difficulties

I am having some technical difficulties with the blog, and was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced the same thing. The formatting and spacing on my last 2 posts is all messed up. When I type it, everything looks fine. Then, when I go to publish, it gets all out of whack. If I edit it back the right way, it gets all crazy looking again when I publish. Hmmmmm.... I hope I can figure it out soon because I don't like it looking all crazy! :) Anyone have any suggestions???

Happy birthday Nick!!!!

I'm a little late on this, but Nick's birthday was March 29th. Happy birthday Nick!!!

On his actual birthday, I was still recovering, so not anything too exciting happened that day. He took off work to help me take care of Adalynn and go to the doctor with me.

This past weekend, we went on a double date with my brother, Nathan, and his wife, Kristin. Nick has a new-found love for Indian food so went to this Indian restaurant over in Louisville that he'd been wanting to try. My parents were sweet enough to watch Adalynn, and we had a great time on our little night out! After dinner, we went to Garden Ridge. (I am sitting here smiling right now about how our date nights have evolved from our younger days. We are definitely not the most exciting bunch but we had a great time!)

Nathan and Kristin sitting in the biggest recliner I've ever seen in my life! They sell these at Garden Ridge.

The birthday boy and me!

Self-portrait that didn't quite turn out.

Hope you had a great birthday, Nick! I will try to make it more exciting next year! :)

the greatest show on earth

On Saturday, we headed to the circus!!!

We had been looking forward to going for quite some. Adalynn was the most excited about seeing elephants and horsies. :)

Oliver and Uncle Jamie joined us.

Love this picture!!!

Two daddies with their kiddos. :)
Yes, that is my child in the white jacket, and yes, she is wearing a John Deer toboggan. It was Oliver's, but the second Addy saw it, she threw the biggest fit for it! Hahaha! We pick our battles with her because she is VERY strong-willed. :)

At the circus, Adalynn...

...ate popcorn with daddy...

...sat in the same seat as Ollie and shared a pretzel with Uncle Jamie...

...and... squealed the whole time!

It was sooo fun watching her reaction to everything. Priceless! We had a great time at the circus and will definitely have to venture back next year!
